Bontrager Select Tyres

This fairly basic offering form Bontrager offer slick tread for minimum rolling resistance and a Kevlar belt for puncture prevention. They come in between 225g and 450g. We have had these on long term test over the winter miles and with winter riding there is always a lot of debris on the roads.

We fond that these tyres preformed very well, the rolling resistance is low but there is still enough grip to get you around the wet corners. We found that the puncture prevention seems to work as we didn’t take care to avoid the glass and small stones on the roads but still didn’t get a flat. These may not be the most advanced tyres but they are a good offering for the price.

On first look we liked these tyres and have liked previous tyres from Bontrager. Once we fitted them on everything looks they seem good quality and well made they have a silica/carbon tread compound that should give traction when on the road.

Once out on the road they felt good it was slightly damp when we tested them but we still got good grip into the corners. There wasn’t much tyre noise at high speed and they feel smooth on flat tarmac. The one negative is that after only a few hours use there was a lot of cuts on them, this didn’t result in any flats for us but there were more than we would have expected.
