Thomson setposts are some the strongest around they are CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminium.  This makes them both light weight and very strong.  The saddle is fitted using the seat posts dual bolt clamp design that makes it feel solid and secure.

Where weight is every thing then this probably is not for you as you can get lighter seat posts.  If you prefer something a bit more solid than a bit of carbon fibre tube then this is a good choice.  Its bomb proof design and easy to adjust the saddle position makes it a winner.
